Meghan & Harry MELTDOWN—William & Catherine Take Over Palace Mansion

Meghan and Harry have reportedly gone beyond simply distancing themselves—they’re constructing a “royal court” of their own. Sources say they’ve hired household staff in a hierarchical structure similar to that of Buckingham Palace, fueling criticism from royal insiders that they are attempting to “compete with Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace” from across the Atlantic.

Netflix Versus Palace Priorities

Meanwhile, the Palace isn’t focused on the Sussexes’ media ventures. Meghan’s return to Netflix with Season 2 of With Love, Meghan has been dismissed by palace insiders as “budget‑conscious fluff,” overshadowed by more weighty royal content such as King Charles’s collaboration with Idris Elba on a new documentary.

This contrast illustrates the diverging priorities of the Sussexes and the established royal family.

On the home front, William and Catherine are making strategic residential moves that reflect a growing consolidation of their domestic stature. Most recently, they've relocated to Forest Lodge, a Georgian mansion they’ve designated as their long-term family home—one that emphasizes continuity, tradition, and an increasingly central role in palace affairs.
